Although born in Germany in '94, Jeszi has lived in NC since moving to the US where she spent her early college life focusing on psychology and competition drumline. She joined the Marine Corps with her brother in 2016, landing her in Jacksonville, and began volunteering with horses in the beginning of 2019 before she got stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After completing her service in the USMC, she was honorably discharged in 2021 and returned to her newly purchased home. She continued volunteering, founded a non-profit rabbit rescue in 2022, assists others with meal prep recipes and ideas, and is now a multi-state award winning taxidermist and owns her own business! Jeszi is tri-lingual, very family oriented, and enjoys spending her free time riding her motorcycle and joy-riding in the Rx7 she imported from Japan. She has an endless passion for animals to include her horse, 4 dogs, 6 cats, 4 snakes, 3 lizards, rabbit, and flock of chickens. So if you need some fresh farm eggs, we know an egg dealer!

Jeszi was hired at the start of this company in January, 2024 to help Peggy run the business. She started as the main trail guide and already knew the trails because the previous trail riding company she worked for since 2019 used to pay the campground to use our trails. She created our Facebook, Instagram, website, business cards and waivers before training a full staff of trail guides, volunteers, and hiring photographers. Once everything could run smoothly with the newly established staff and without her presence required on a regular basis, she stepped down as barn manager and transitioned to running everything digitally for us! This includes posting on our social media, all marketing and advertisements, customer scheduling and communication via all platforms, new contracts and/or waivers, interviewing new staff members, submitting us for events and festivals, and assisting with staff meetings and management. She is our fill-in trail guide when we are short handed and she currently boards Leo with us!

Our very own Jacksonville native, Meredith was born here in '84 but moved around every couple of years as a military brat. She finally came back in 2018 and settled in Trenton, NC. After enduring extreme bullying in highschool, she dropped out at age 16 and immediately dove into the real world where she worked for a horse trainer and learned to break and train horses. She continued her education through Midwest Natural Healing for Animals with Beverly Brady to learn equine rehab and massage methods and is officially certified as an equine sports massage therapist! (CESMT) Her passion for animals continued to grow as she worked at a local zoo and founded her own private rescue at her personal farm where she cares for 7 horses (3 boarders), 10 dogs, 17 cats, 5 ducks, 2 prairie dogs, a turkey, turtle, and beta fish. Aside from loving her animals and her happy 13-year relationship, she enjoys relaxing with her Sphynx cat and spending time with friends by a bonfire. Meredith is an amazing care taker and advocate for animals, and is walking proof that you don't need to finish school to have a successful and happy life when you put in the work and strive to learn everything you can for what you're passionate about.

Meredith was one of the first staff members hired in January, 2024 as a close family friend of Peggy and she was happy to help wherever she was needed. Back then she still worked at the zoo full time but thankfully was able to juggle working part time for us as well! She loves working with children and doing riding lessons in the arena and will even bring her own horses or ponies for the customers to use if they'd like! She didn't need to be trained on horse etiquette, care-taking, saddling, or anything horse related, since she had been working with horses almost her entire life and had more experience than most people could ever dream of! After quickly learning the different trail routes and customer requirements, she became one of our first trail guides in addition to already being a teacher for riding lessons as she is such a natural with the kids! After deciding to step away from the zoo to focus more on her own rescue, we are excited to have her around more often, working 2-3 days every week, and being available when customers request her by name (she's a big hit with those little ones!) Meredith helps us with restocking our feed, caring for our herd of fur babies, teaching riding lessons, taking customers on trail rides, assisting other guides with big groups, filling in for staff members on vacation, assisting us with injured or rehabbing new rescue horses, and she even helps us with transporting if we need an extra driver or trailer! She will also be one of our camp counselors for our spring and summer kids camp events and will assist with their education, arts and crafts, socialization with the horses, grooming, and teaching the basics!
